Yeah, what he said.  If you've ever wanted to get on the track, this is a great chance to do it.

Welcome to the addiction!  Go through the "Need to Know" section of the site first.  That will give you a good breakdown of what to bring and what to expect.  At the track, stop at the building at the entrance to check in to the track.  When you come over the bridge into the paddock, the novice paddock is to the right by the garage.  TrackNight check in is either under an awning or in one of the classrooms in the building attached to the garage. The novice meeting will run through the procedures, flags, passing....all the stuff that seems boring but is pretty important.  If you aren't familiar with the track, try to line up as one of the first cars for paced laps to get a feel for the line.  If you have never done anything like this before, I'd definitely ease into it your first session.  My first session I overestimated how deep I could go into turn one and almost lost it.....not an ideal start to the day.  More than anything just have fun and go at your pace.  Most everybody out there are car people and fun to talk to.  It's a blast man, worth every penny and then some.  Maybe I'll see you out there.  Good luck!

Hello all, I'm a novice and would like to attend an event in June.

See you guys there tonight!

It turned out better than the forecast at Thompson on April 26 . . . there was some light drizzle off and on through the afternoon and evening, but no real standing water on the track and we got in some good sessions. The "rain line" was not the best for my car, but not too bad I guess. The best part of the night was getting passed by that gray GT350.

I got some pretty decent video, but when I try to upload it, the system says "file too large" . . . If anyone knows how to post a video here, please let me know. Meanwhile I'll try to reduce the file size and see if that works.
