From California to Massachusetts and Florida to Washington, SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack will crisscross the United States in 2016 to fling open gates at more than 20 race circuits during spring, summer and fall so automotive enthusiasts can have an inexpensive, fun adventure on weekday evenings.

Seven new racecourses have been added so far to the SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack program.  An event calendar will be made available later in February, and a few more circuits may be added in the coming weeks, but the current list of Track Night in America venues for 2016 is as follows (new venues bolded):

Heyward Wagner, SCCA Director of Experiential Programs, said Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack this year is again designed to be a fun, inexpensive, non-competitive, entertaining and easy way for nearly anyone who loves cars or motorsports to get on a racecourse in their own vehicle during weeknights.

“The price in 2016 will again never be greater than $150 per event, and no previous on-track experience or SCCA membership is required to join in the fun,” Wagner said.  “The only things required are that participants be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and have access to a helmet and street car in good working condition.”

Each driver gets three 20-minute sessions on course, as well as feedback from on-site SCCA driver coaches.  Participants are divided into Novice, Intermediate or Advanced groups so on-track activities remain fun for all.  Novices get extra attention from the start, including help removing loose items from vehicles, paced lead-and-follow laps, and tutelage throughout.  To make life easier for Intermediate and Advanced participants, drivers can fill out tech sheets and complete a Track Night drivers’ meeting online prior to events.  Admission is free for people who just want to stop by and watch the fun, and leisurely circuit parade laps are provided for all Track Night in America guests.

So check out where SCCA Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack will be visiting in 2016 and find the location nearest you.  Or start thinking about travel plans to meet up with us at a couple different venues this year!  One way or another, we'll see ya at the track very soon.

Where do we go to sign up for events?

Jim L.

You'll be able to register through the Track Night website.  But registration isn't open yet.  We hope to have registration open as early as tomorrow, March 1.

Will the 2016 Schedule be posted soon for The Ridge Motorsports Park, Pacific Raceways and Portland International Raceway?

Jim L.

Hope to have calendar ready by later next week.  It's not easy pulling all the puzzle pieces together when your're scheduling more than 20 tracks coast to coast and border to border over several months!  :)

We've got lots of dates and lots of locations this year.  We need a little more time to create the calendar before we open registration.

Thank you for adding Palmer and keeping Thompson. You'll be seeing a lot of me this summer! Can't wait. Two tracks within 60 miles I must be dreaming!

I see Harris Hill Raceway on the list...NICE. This is a fun little track. Can wait for the full calendar to come out so I can start scheduling some time off.
