Changes to Fast Pass and Advanced Group Passing

Through our first 10 events we have made friends, had a lot of fun and seen some really cool racetracks. We have also gotten feedback, learned things and, as a result, made some changes. Here’s a rundown.

Driver Briefings:

In addition to the online drivers meeting, Intermediate and Advanced Groups will also have a briefing before their first session. Fear not, this will be brief (5 minutes) and will address passing rules, flags and the basic rules of the road. These briefings will happen in grid, 10 minutes before each group’s first session (4:10 for Advanced, 4:30 for Intermediate at most tracks).

Advanced Group Passing Rules:

After consideration, Track Night Advanced Group will now be allowed to pass anywhere on the track, with a point. We would like to emphasize that this puts the driver being passed in charge of timing the pass. Drivers being passed should wait for a part of the course they are comfortable being passed on, hold their line, point the car behind them and lower their speed until the pass is complete.
