My first HPDE event. Novice run group. This was the final session for the day. Had some minor issues with the car earlier in the day but nothing catastrophic.. yet. Thank you to my instructor Thai for giving me good input while not overwhelming me or barking orders at me. And thanks for the incredible ride in your Evo. And props to TrackDaze for running a well organized and on-time event.

It wasn't until the end of the fourth and final session of the day that the motor went. I had become somewhat comfortable and my cornering speeds had picked up a bit. I was easing off the throttle down the straights to keep the engine cool but I guess that wasn't enough. My guess is as to the cause is oil starvation. Running the factory pan (not by choice) and not having a way to get the oil down from the heads during a long corner. I didn't notice the noise until the next corner and my instructor didn't even notice until I pointed it out to him.

Car was running on low boost which I believe was about 15 psi.
