Heartland Park Topeka is a multi-purpose motorsports facility located 5 miles (8 km) in Topeka, Kansas. When it opened in 1989, it was the first brand-new auto racing facility to be built in the United States for 20 years. Its facilities include a road-race course with 4 possible configurations (ranging from 1.8 miles (2.9 km) to 2.5 miles (4.0 km) in length), a ⅜ mile clay oval, off-road course and a ¼ mile drag strip. The full 2.5 mile road course (and pit road) was completely repaved with a high-tech, polymer-enhanced asphalt in the fall of 2016.

Just out of curiosity......how will weather be handled? For example rain....delay, cancel, etc. Thanks!

    Jennifer McAbee

We will run in the rain. If there is lightning or conditions that are unsafe for our workers to be on course we will delay. It's not too often we're not able to get the whole show in.

    Oscar R.

and if we bring our own cars does it need to meet certain requirements?

    Dalton B.

Yes it does.  When you register there is a tech sheet you must fill out.  It covers all the things that you would expect to be able to safely run around a track.  Fresh tires, fresh brakes, seatbelts, no fluid leaks, etc.  Basically don't expect a beater to be allowed to run.  Also you need a snell approved helmet.

    Oscar R.

So we bring our own car or do we get cars to run?

    Dalton B.

    Bring your own car.

    Charlie R.

DOes anyone know if they do 1/8 or 1/4 mike drag races at this event?

    Matthew James Van Zante

No they will not.  SCCA does not do any drag racing, this will strictly be road coarse.

    Dalton B.

No drag racing.  This is road course only.
