Event Note: Track Night is intended to be a street car only event. Although there may sometimes be track cars which look a lot like race cars, the purpose and style of driving differs.
If you are coming in to town for the SCCA Majors event at Pocono and wondering if you can use Track Night as an extra test session, the answer is that while we do encourage SCCA racers to walk around and join in the social aspect of Track Night, please don't plan on driving your race car in the event.
If you want practice time for your racecar, there is a practice day that will run from 8:30am until shortly before Track Night begins.
Pocono Raceway is one of the most historic circuits on the Track Night in America schedule having hosted NASCAR and IndyCar races for more than 40 years. Hey TNIA, I'm interested in bringing my little brother for his first track event. (His birthday is on the 5/25 so this event falls perfectly.)
Is it possible for us to ride along together? It'll be my first/second event at pocono for the 2017 season so i'll place myself in the intermediate group and he will run with the Koni guys.
I just want to make positive that I'll be able to ride along with him/him with I, to show proper hand signaling and (hopefully) point out some lines.
Searched through the site and didn't see much discussing this area. Is there anyone I can contact regarding this? I's just like to know before registering and paying for insurance for us both.
Thanks,
Jon
