Track Night in America 2021 Event Schedule

Let the Fun With Cars Continue!

Get ready to shed those shut-in blues in 2021 with SCCA's Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack! Back with nearly 150 events scheduled at more than 30 tracks around the United States, Track Night in America is a non-competitive, no-stress, entertaining, easy and inexpensive way for nearly anyone who loves cars or motorsports to get on a real racecourse in their own vehicle. All that is required is that participants be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and have access to an approved helmet and streetcar in good working condition.

The cost to participate is usually around $160 per event, with some special events and tracks priced slightly higher and a few slightly lower. Unlike previous seasons, registration will be staggered this year to give people a better shot at registering for popular events that frequently sell out and allow a little leeway for possible COVID scheduling changes.

Circuits that have become favorites within the Track Night in America community are back on the schedule in 2021. Join us at Auto Club Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, VIRginia International Raceway, Lime Rock Park, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Portland International Raceway, and many, many more. Of note, this year is Buttonwillow Raceway Park's return to the schedule in April just before a Tire Rack SCCA Time Trials National Tour event in California, as well as several more dates added to the schedule for Eagles Canyon Raceway in Texas. Organizers are still working with several circuits and look forward to adding new venues and additional dates to the 2021 schedule soon.

Since its inception in 2015, Track Night in America has hosted nearly 45,000 entries. No previous on-track experience or SCCA membership is required to join in the fun. However, participants who are SCCA members receive a $10 discount on entry fees. Drivers participate in the Advanced, Intermediate, or KONI Novice Experience group, so on-track activities remain fun for all, and everyone gets three 20-minute sessions on course -- as well as support feedback from SCCA driver coaches on site. If you just want to stop by and see what it's like, you can always sign up for our free Touring Laps session for a relaxed, lead-follow trip around the racetrack.

Matt Edmonds, Executive Vice President of Tire Rack, said, "The team at Tire Rack are all automotive enthusiasts, and we have really loved partnering with SCCA to inspire others to become enthusiasts, too. Track Night in America Driven by Tire Rack continues to be a great way to make that happen, allowing anyone to experience performance driving and the thrill of being on a racetrack in their own vehicle, all under the supervision of knowledgeable and safety-minded coaches and staff."

New Registration Dates

"2020 was a pretty brutal for the Track Night team," admitted Heyward Wagner, SCCA's Senior Director of Experiential Programs. "COVID restrictions from state to state, and venue to venue, created a non-stop churn of scheduling, rescheduling and in cases re-rescheduling of individual events. We anticipate the same may be true for a portion of 2021, which is a reason why we've deployed a staggered registration process to only release a handful of events at each venue at a time.  The process also allows us to more effectively adjust the schedule based on demand, bringing more events to areas where waitlists are commonplace."

Here's When to Register:

January 26: Registration opens for February events.
February 1: Registration opens for March events.
March 1: Registration opens for April and May events.
April 1: Registration opens for June events.
May 1: Registration opens for July events.
June 1: Registration opens for August events.
July 1: Registration opens for September events.
August 1: Registration opens for October events.
September 1: Registration opens for November events.
October 1: Registration opens for December events.

Rather than try to keep track of all of those dates, just make a plan to check TrackNightinAmerica.com on the 1st of each month, where we'll have a list of all of the events that have opened registration. Easy peasy!
